Anna was born in Poland in 1959. She attended the Acedemy of Art in Wroclaw Poland. She was educated in Painting, Glass Design and Grapic Arts. She has had solo exhibitions in Poland, Italy, and across the United States. Her work is in public museums throughout Seattle, WA, in Charlotte, NC and Chicago, IL. Anna was the inventor the technique for crafting her sculptures out of clear or colored glass, she melted them with a torch, drawn into tiny, irregular strands. The strands are then welded into a much larger whole. The sculptures that she built were not only objects but metaphors & characters in her story telling tradition, rooted in her polish immigrant history. In her hands, glass becomes line and form, strong and fragile, enormous and delicate. In her mind, the contrast of life are impressive and are celebrated in sculptural forms, most of her sculptures are life size, and somehow are connected to the human spirit through their physical presence. The glass installions that she does surround the essence and difficult parts with the nature of light. Her pieces hang suspended somewhere between the physical and abstract view like constellations in space. Her sculptures usually look spider web like, the fragile lines create the skeleton of surprising strength. Anna is a well known artist and people are inspired by her work because the unique quality and the way it tells a story.

I really like Anna's work. I like it because it is very unique and dramatically reenacts the everyday experience of sunlight filtering through desert air on an ethereal scale. It really relates to nature and i am inspired by nature. It can have so many different meanings to other people. When you look at the balls and her other sculptures of work i was struck by their fragility. They catch the light and look magical. Life is fragile and i think the pieces she creates are a symbol of life in a way. They show the true nature of life and people can relate and connect to them in so many different ways. I love the way that her difference pieces look and the glass when it shines in the lights puts off a vibrant atmosphere. Anna quoted “The sun and moon are shared by all people. The sun is a powerful symbol of Truth. It always rises to reveal that hidden by the dark of night. Night represents Justice, equal and fair in her blindness. I hope that Day and Night will create an optimistic atmosphere, and a place in which we can comfortably search for truth and justice.” I strongly agree with this statement. Life is beautiful and you must recognize it and expressing it through art is amazing. The irony is beautiful and because it lacks any hint of heavy-handedness, it is intelligent and alluring.
